Does it really matter where we worship?

Joshua Watts on the significance of the physical location of our worship:

Today we understand, through the lens of the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus, that God’s “temple” is actually within each one of His followers (1 Corinthians 3:16, 1 John 4:12). Yet, there is still something significant about the gathering of believers in God’s House.

I love the balance that Joshua strikes here. Yes, we can worship anywhere, but as he points out, where and how we come together to worship is still very important. That means we should take great care in planning and designing our worship facilities. There’s nothing superficial or wrong about that.
