When The Holy Spirit Picks The Song

“This song isn’t quite right, but I feel like I should do it anyway.”

Ever had that thought when planning a worship service? I know I have, and I’m always amazed at the way it works out. God knows in advance which songs need to be sung, and He often plans the service despite our best efforts.

Bob Castelline writes about that feeling when the song choices work out just right:

It’s interesting. The more I read scripture, the more I begin to see that serendipity actually comes from God. After all, God is omniscient, which means He knows everything. He knows things that haven’t even happened yet. How do I know this? Well, scripture is full of accounts where God declares in advance what will occur later… In my own life as a worship leader, I’m amazed at the prominent role serendipity often plays.
