God Is Not Like Us

Pamela Haddix shares a confession that I think most of us can relate to at one point or another, but draws out a contrast between God and us:

Confession: I’m tired.

There’s a lot going on in my life right now from changes to challenges and routines to requisites. So it’s easy to let it weigh me down if I’m not careful.

You know what? I’m so thankful God’s not tired.

He’s not tired of drawing me, listening to me, or helping me. He’s not tired of being faithful – of pouring out His strength in my weakness or His understanding in my searching.

He’s not tired of reminding me one more time of who He is. Who He is in me and for me. And that He never changes. Ever.

Reading her post got me thinking that if God were like us, we wouldn’t worship Him. And there are so many ways that God is not like us that make Him worthy of our worship.
